Autism Auction Appeal Update – 5 Days To Go

Autism Auction Appeal Update – 5 Days To Go

The bidding to become this year’s Autism New Zealand appeal week sponsor has attracted $21,200 with 23,800 page views on the auction and totals are climbing.

Until Monday 19 April companies, organisations and individuals all over New Zealand will have a chance to become the main sponsor of this year’s Autism New Zealand Appeal week and secure over $250,000 of donated services from several companies.

Autism NZ Chief Executive Alison Molloy says she is really enjoying the auction and is heartened by parents posting comments about how much they appreciate help.

“Half a dozen mothers with autistic children have emailed in support and love the idea of a big business coming in to help families like them,” Alison said.

“There is a real feeling generated by those visiting Trade Me that they would like to see a business coming in now with a big bid and this would raise their respect and opinion of that business.

“Naturally we would engage with this business throughout the process more formally.

“Of course we want to see some businesses going online over the next few days and bidding to get the amount we can use for the appeal week up to two, three or even four times what the auction is at now. Come on New Zealand.

“Autism affects over 40,000 New Zealand families. It is the fastest growing serious development disability in the world as diagnosis is now starting to be carried out more effectively than in the past,” she said.
