Ulmer and Plunket team up to support Christchurch

Sarah Ulmer and Plunket team up to support Christchurch families

Sarah Ulmer and Plunket have partnered up for this year’s Sarah Ulmer Brand (SUB) Stride or Ride Event in Cambridge on Mother’s Day, Sunday 8th May.

All profits from the event will go to Plunket to support families displaced by the Christchurch earthquake.

Plunket CEO Jenny Prince said that the funds raised will make a real difference to the services Plunket can offer to the families of Christchurch.

“Many families have fled to outlying regions, and are seeking Plunket support and we’re noticing an increase in demand for services around the country.”

“Our funding both through central government and public donation is limited and something like a devastating earthquake leaves us with significantly stretched financial resources. We’re tremendously grateful to Sarah personally and to Sarah Ulmer Brand for their support at this time”.

Sarah, Mum to 18-month-old Lilly, says Plunket was a natural choice.

“We're absolutely stoked to be supporting Plunket through the SUB Stride or Ride Event. Even if people haven't had children yet themselves, they’re likely to have been a Plunket child. Plunket are an awesome organisation and it’s great to be able to give something back”.
The event is open to everyday women to encourage them to get active by walking, running or riding a bike and inspire women to enjoy active and healthy lifestyles.
Event options include a 5, 10 and 21km run or walk or, for those who prefer to be on wheels, a short, mid or long cycle course. To register for the event visit www.sub.org.nz

Plunket clients who have left Christchurch are encouraged to contact the local Plunket office or clinic in their new location, or to phone PlunketLine (0800 933 922) to re-establish contact with Plunket.
