Update On Recall Of Kronic Pineapple Express

Lightyears Ahead Limited was advised yesterday by the Ministry of Health that one synthetic cannabinoid blend distributed by Lightyears has been found to have been contaminated by a small amount (300 parts per million) of the prescription medicine phenazepam.
The Ministry of Health requested that Lightyears:

• Cease sale or distribution of Kronic Pineapple Express;
• Urgently initiate a recall of all stock that has been distributed to individuals, retailers, and other distributors;
• Cease importing all stock and ingredients;
• Cease advertising Kronic Pineapple Express, including by website.

Lightyears is committed to full compliance and cooperation with the Ministry of Health’s requests and has undertaken the following actions:

Kronic Pineapple Express was immediately withdrawn from sale;

An urgent recall has been initiated of all stock that has been distributed to individuals, retailers and distributors. The following steps have been taken:

Seven Lightyears staff are currently calling retailers and wholesalers and explaining the requirements of the recall, including the return of stock and the removal of advertising. Calls will continue to be made over the weekend;

All wholesalers and retailers were posted letters about the recall yesterday;

All wholesalers and retailers for whom Lightyears retains email addresses are being contacted by email. 517 emails have been sent to retailers this morning;

692 faxes have been sent to retailers this morning; and

All wholesalers and retailers for whom Lightyears retains mobile numbers are being contacted by text message.

Approximately 62% of all retailers and wholesalers have been contacted by Lightyears to date;

The recall notice has been prominently published on the Kronic Facebook page;

All advertising of Kronic Pineapple Express by Lightyears has ceased. Retailers are requested to remove any advertising currently displayed.

Members of the public who still possess Kronic Pineapple Express are requested to return to the retailer they purchased it from for a refund. Retailers are requested to return Kronic Pineapple Express to Lightyears as soon as possible.
