Active ageing expert comes to Auckland
The Mental Health Foundation, in association with the Auckland City Council, Age Concern and Auckland District Council of Social Services, are pleased to host pioneer of active ageing Dr Alex Kalache, as part of the Auckland Conversations series on Monday, 14 November.
This free series, which features international speakers presenting on urban design, heritage and environmental issues, will see Dr Kalache discussing ageing within the global context, what is an age-friendly city and active ageing?
Dr Kalache will also be presenting on global age friendly cities earlier in the day and this session will include some examples of intergenerational playground equipment.
Dr Kalache is the Senior Advisor to the President of Global Ageing at the New York Academy of Medicine and a member of the advisory board of the World Demographic and Ageing Forum. He is also an adviser to an increasing number of Governments from the Americas to Europe and Australasia.
