Temporary Moves to Accommodate Earthquake Repairs: CHOC, GAU

The Child Haematology Oncology Centre (CHOC) And The Gynaecology Assessment Unit Temporarily Move To Accommodate Earthquake Repairs

The Child Haematology Oncology Centre (CHOC) and the Gynaecology Assessment Unit are on the move to allow for earthquake repair work scheduled from this week. Child Health Service Manager Anne Morgan says CHOC will temporarily relocate from Riverside to the Gynaecology Assessment Unit in Christchurch Women’s Hospital and the unit will temporarily move to the Gynaecology Ward for about two weeks.

The move will also see the Paediatric High Dependency Unit temporarily move to some unaffected CHOC rooms and Ward 21 and 22 combine. “The temporary relocation is a result of the need for earthquake repair and strengthening work to be carried out around doorway entrances to the children’s wards,” Anne says.

“We apologise for the disruption this causes to staff, patients and any visitors to the hospital. The repair work is part of the scheduled repairs and seismic strengthening work that are being undertaken across Canterbury District Health Board sites.” To learn more about the repair work that’s happening go to: www.itsallhappening.chdb.health.nz ENDS
