Sadness at Loss of Dr Pete Foley
“Sadness at Loss of Dr Pete Foley”
“Senior doctors will feel much sadness at the loss of Dr Pete Foley, former Chair of the Medical Association,” said Mr Ian Powell, Executive Director of the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists, today. His death was reported earlier today.
“We had a lot to do with Dr Foley when he was Chair of the New Zealand Medical Association for four active years. His exuberance and positive attitude went a long way to further improving the constructive relationship between our two organisations.’
“We also engaged with him over the development of the excellent report he was responsible for on the future direction of health services in the Lake Wakitipu region. That was first class work.”
“Pete became eligible to join us when he took up a position with the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board as chief medical officer responsible for primary care and were delighted to accept him as a member.”
“Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time,” concluded Mr Powell.
