Invitation to submit an Expression of Interest to
evaluate the effectiveness of Regular Practice Review
(RPR)
The Medical Council is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) to manage an evaluation programme looking at the effectiveness of Regular Practice Review (RPR) which forms part of the recertification programme for doctors registered in a general scope of practice.
RPR is a quality improvement process that has the objective of maintaining and improving the standards of the profession.
Council chairperson, Dr John Adams said today, “The goal of RPR is to help individual doctors identify areas where aspects of their performance could be improved, benefiting not only their own professional development but also the quality of care that their patients receive.”
“The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the effectiveness of RPR and the outcomes it has on a doctor’s future performance and practise.”
“The evaluation programme will take place over a number of years and it is expected to begin in late 2013, with the final of six reports due in January 2020.”
