Foundation presents FREE public lecture in Gisborne

Changing our minds and boosting our brains – insights on dementia

Dr Helena Popovic MBBS is a medical doctor, author, international speaker and one of Australia’s foremost authorities on how to maintain brain function. Her book In Search of My Father, which was showcased to a capacity audience at the 2013 Auckland Writers and Readers Festival, is an uplifting story of caring for her dementia-stricken father and taking charge of his brain health.

Dr Popovic is visiting New Zealand in March 2014 to support the Neurological Foundation’s Brain Awareness Week programme. In this FREE public lecture, she will talk about the many things that we can all do to optimise our brain function and reduce the risk of dementia. As a doctor involved with the ongoing care of her father, she has applied the same principles to his everyday care.

Please join us to hear Dr Popovic’s very insightful talk, and take the opportunity to meet her afterwards. Her book will be available for purchase at the event. All lecture attendees will receive the Neurological Foundation’s latest information booklet titled Exercise and the Brain.
