Ruby Takes the Cake with Her Latest Starship Tea Towel Design

Patients on Starship’s Oncology & Haematology ward had fun on Friday making cake pops from their hospital rooms to help 17 year-old cancer survivor Ruby Seeto launch her latest Starship-fundraiser cake pop tea towel.

Designed by Ruby, the new tea towel are now on sale at Wallace Cotton stores nationwide and online at www.wallacecotton.com.

The colourful tea towel is the eighth designed in Ruby’s popular series, and includes a delicious cake pop recipe that’s easy for adults and kids alike.

The cake pops got the vote of approval from Starship patients and their families who were also invited to come and enjoy free cake pops being given out in the atrium of the national children’s hospital today.

Like previous years Ruby has partnered with linen retailer Wallace Cotton to produce and sell the 100% thick cotton $10.00 tea towels, with $6.00 (which is all the proceeds after costs) from each sale going to Starship. This year Ruby’s tea towel is going towards the upgrade of Starship’s operating theatres and surgical facilities.

“I'm so excited for the release of my new tea towel with Wallace Cotton. Seeing so many differently decorated cake pops around lately inspired me to put them on this year’s design. They are such fun and tasty treats. Being a past Starship patient I’ve had a few trips to the Starship operating theatres, so it makes me happy to be able to support the much-needed renovations,” says Ruby.
