Patient Experience Survey

Patient Experience Survey

Northland DHB is encouraging people to respond to a new survey asking for feedback on their stay in hospital.

A random selection of people in the Northland DHB region who spent at least one night in hospital from November 3-16 have been sent an invitation to participate in the national Patients are able to fill in the survey online using a computer, tablet or smartphone, or can post their response back to the DHB.

Developed by the Health Quality & Safety Commission, the survey results will help DHBs make improvements in care and give the public valuable insights into the performance of their local health services.

The survey responses are anonymous, unless patients choose to supply contact details.

Northland DHB is sending the survey to patients once every three months.

Responses are collated to give each DHB a rating out of 10 in four areas: co-ordination, partnership, communications, and physical and emotional needs.

DHBs undertook the first of these surveys between August 26 and September 19, 2014, with over 1500 responses, about a quarter of patients contacted.
