New-look Melanoma New Zealand geared up to fight disease

The Melanoma Foundation of New Zealand has had a makeover, this month unveiling a new name and an overhaul of the organisation’s branding.

The organisation will now be known as Melanoma New Zealand. The organisation’s colour scheme, logo and website have also been refreshed and are on display at www.melanoma.org.nz.

Melanoma New Zealand CEO Linda Flay says the new look is a closer reflection of the organisation’s vision of preventing avoidable deaths from melanoma in New Zealand and alleviating those affected by it.

“We felt it was important to refresh how we are portrayed to the public and to create a brand that is in alignment with a true Kiwi image, hence the map of New Zealand in our logo,” said Linda.

The name change and the new branding coincides with the organisation’s annual Melanoma March awareness month, which this year centres on ambassador Josh Emett and the need to follow a ‘Recipe for Life’ in order to keep your skin from harm.

Linda believes that the work of Josh and other ambassadors netballer Adine Wilson, IRONMAN Cameron Brown, and Healthy Thinking Institute Medical Director Dr Tom Mulholland, is vital to communicating to Kiwis the importance of keeping safe in the harmful sun.

“We are very excited to have Josh as the ambassador of our campaign to create awareness and to give a call to action for all Kiwis,” said Linda said. “We are determined to reduce the incidence of avoidable deaths from melanoma.”
