Agreement reached between Southern DHB and Central Otago Health Services
Southern District Health Board has reached an agreement with Central Otago Health Services Limited (COHSL) over funding for the next 12 months.
In a joint statement COHSL General Manager Karyn Penno and Southern District Health Board Chief Executive, Carole Heatly said they were pleased with the outcome which was based on mutual understanding and a shared vision of the way forward.
“We have agreed to a future funding model that will focus on the population growth of Central Otago and the Upper Clutha and on improving health outcomes for the community,” Ms Heatly said.
“The community showed us a great deal of support and I am really pleased that with that support we have reached an agreement. The DHB has listened to our concerns and the new funding model will present us with opportunities to deliver even better services in the future,” Ms Penno said.
