Teamwork key to local dentists’ awards success
Wellington dental practice, Simply Dental, say excellent teamwork is the reason they are a finalist in this year’s Wellington Gold Awards.
Simply Dental are finalists in the ‘Team Gold’ category, thanks to the high performance team culture that helped create “the best adolescent dental service possible.”
Simply Dental operations manager, Robin Groves, says the award nod recognises the work the team puts in to delivering what they believe is “essential” free dental care for high school students through both their practice and mobile clinic.
“By realising our team’s potential we can realise our organisation’s potential, and deliver the best quality services for our community,” says Robin.
“Being a Wellington Gold Awards finalist is a testament to the dedication and passion of our team, to do the best for each other every single day.”
Simply Dental provide high school age students with free dental care in their Lambton Quay practice, and launched the mobile school programme in 2010 when the local utilisation of funded dental services continued to decline.
“We wanted to do something to help the community, without costing them a whole lot – that was key, so our team set about creating a model that fit the brief,” Robin says.
“We have treated over 10,000 students since the service began, and we now visit 13 schools per term covering Wellington, Porirua and Kapiti Coast.
“That’s an impressive community benefit, and one that we’re extremely proud of.”
Simply Dental also acknowledges the support of the community and schools that make their programme possible.
“Great dental care is for everyone and can be experienced at our Lambton Quay practice every day.”
The Wellington Gold Awards will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9 at TSB Arena.
