New chief executive for Mental Health Foundation
The Mental Health Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of its new chief executive – Shaun Robinson.
Mr Robinson, who is currently the executive director of the New Zealand AIDS Foundation, will take up his position in June. He has more than 20 years’ experience leading not-for-profit organisations, including a youth housing NGO in Australia and Presbyterian Support East Coast.
“Shaun’s experience, knowledge and skills will contribute significantly to further developing the Mental Health Foundation’s positive mental health and wellbeing work, as well as our work in policy and advocacy to support those with experience of mental illness,” MHF board chair, Jeremy Gardiner, says.
“I am happy and humbled to have the opportunity to lead the Mental Health Foundation,” Mr Robinson says.
“I am committed to working toward creating a society and environment that supports and sustains positive mental health and wellbeing.
“The Mental Health Foundation does important work. Like many New Zealanders, I’ve had my own challenges with my mental health. I’m excited to help build communities’ and individuals’ ability to stay mentally healthy and strong.”
Judi Clements, former chief executive of the Mental Health Foundation, resigned in November 2015, and left the Mental Health Foundation in February 2016. Hugh Norriss is the MHF’s acting chief executive.
