Fashion for a Cure Auckland 2016

MEDIA RELEASE MAY 2016
Fashion for a Cure Auckland 2016
Help Find a Cure

Breast Cancer Cure (BCC) is New Zealand's only not-for-profit organisation established solely to support research into breast cancer. Throughout the year it hosts an array of exclusive events to help raise funds – attending one of these events is the best way for supporters to get behind BCC.

Fashion For a Cure is an exclusive night of fashion that sees ten of New Zealand’s top designers showcase their ranges for the common goal in mind - finding a cure. All proceeds from the night will go directly towards BCC’s goal of finding a cure for breast cancer.

Kicking off the events for this year is Fashion For a Cure Auckland, taking place on Thursday 19 May, at Wolfe of Water Street, Grafton. Designers include: Trelise Cooper, RUBY, Andrea Moore, Liam, Working Style, Zambesi, Storm, Moochi, COOP and Taylor.

Event sponsor ASB is proud to support Fashion For a Cure again in 2016.

ASB Executive General Manager Corporate, Commercial and Rural, Steve Jurkovich, says: “Breast Cancer Cure has an ambitious goal to cure breast cancer. ASB is pleased to be involved with this event again and, with ambition as one of ASB’s core values, we think we align well,” says Mr Jurkovich.

Phillipa Green from BCC, says: “Our work continues to grow in importance, especially as breast cancer in New Zealand grows at epidemic proportions. The lives of more than 660 New Zealand women of all ages and all walks of life are being lost each year to this disease.

“With one of the highest incidence rates in the world here in New Zealand, there is an urgent need to find a breast cancer cure and stop it in its tracks, and our supporters are vital to helping turn that vision into a reality.”
