Recognising Research Excellence: Value Of Medicines Award

Recognising Research Excellence with the 2017 Value Of Medicines Award

Applications are now open for the Medicines New Zealand 2017 Value of Medicines Award. The award recognises research that improves the understanding, effectiveness or safety of the use of medicines in New Zealand.

The national award is open to any researchers, professors, clinicians, students or academics that have completed research in this area in the last 24 months.

“This is an opportunity for Medicines New Zealand to support researchers who provide new insights and add to the discussion on the value that medicines contribute to the health of New Zealanders,” says Hon Heather Roy, Chair of Medicines New Zealand.

For the last six years a wide range of applicants have had their research nominated for the Value of Medicines Award. The application process has been simplified so it is now quick and straightforward.

“Some of the studies being performed here are world leading. As the representative body of the innovative pharmaceutical industry, Medicines New Zealand is pleased to recognise the efforts of our local researchers,” says Dr Graeme Jarvis, General Manager of Medicines New Zealand.

The Value of Medicines Award 2017 winner will receive $20,000 to further their research.

Applicants can apply on the Value of Medicines Award page on the Medicines New Zealand website http://medicinesnz.co.nz/our-work/value-of-medicines-award/
