Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight.
For Northland: Rain at times. A few heavy falls this morning, especially along the east coast.
Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula: Rain easing to showers from afternoon.
In the west from Waikato to Manawatu also for Bay of Plenty and the central plateau: A mix of cloud and fine periods. A few showers about Waikato and east of the Kaimai ranges.
From Gisborne to Wairarapa, also for Wellington: Light showers becoming confined to northern Gisborne this morning. Further south skies slowly clearing.
Nelson: Fine and frosty.
For Marlborough and Canterbury: Some coastal cloud persisting this Morning, chiefly north of Banks Peninsula. Elsewhere mostly fine and frosty.
West of the South Island: Fine weather continuing in most places. From afternoon, an increase in cloud about the fiords with showers developing.
Otago and Southland: Fine and frosty in most areas apart from some coastal cloudiness likely with a few light showers at first this morning. Later showers developing about western Southland.
Chatham Islands: Showers becoming less frequent this morning.
