NRL Grand Final: Brisbane Bronco v Sydney City
Roosters

BRISBANE proved their
tag as the leagues "dominant force" and farewelled Bronco
legends Kevin Walters and Michael Hancock in style by
beating Sydney City 14-6 in Sunday's league Grand Final at
Stadium Australia.
With Kevin Campion, and Kiwis Tonie
Carroll and Brad Thorn also departing the Bronco machine was
revving at full noise to ensure a send-off par excellence in
the football match that stops Sydney.
An inspired,
fired up Brisbane with a brace of tries to their huge pacy
wings Lote Tuqiri and Wendall Sailor were too much for a
gallant Rooster outfit who despite the class of Brad Fittler
and Adrian Lam and heart of Bryan Fletcher and Luke
Ricketson were never going to spoil the Bronco
party.
Human pain sponge Shane Webke - playing in
consecutive games with a broken arm - summed up the attitude
of his ecstatic teamates with succinct stye: This is why you
play footy........you can't buy this shit".
Insiration extraordinaire and literally a living league legend and veteran Bronco standoff "Kevvy" Walters was typically humble: "It was a hard, hard game but the boys wanted it and they all played well to get a deserved win over a very hard Sydney team".
And with a smile as big as a halloween
pumpkin wonder-wing Wendall Sailor was effusive in his
praise of Walters and master coach Wayne Bennett.
"He's
(Wayne Bennett) not God but he's close to it and what can
you say about Kevvy he's won six grand finals and is the
ultimate player and person...he's so down to earth," said
Sailor.
"We just went out listened to Wayne and followed
Kevvy and look what happened we won the Grand
Final".
