PM Holds Onto Her Sensible Shoes
“High heels that make one’s life a misery are not about to be purchased,” said Prime Minister Helen Clark today, in response to suggestions she should upgrade her wardrobe.
The call came from New Zealand fashion designers, who said the Prime Minister should capitalise on her svelte figure with shorter skirts and figure flattering outfits, following comments about her fashion model good looks in the Brunei media during the APEC meetings last week.
Asked about her attitude to fashion, she said it was
important for the Prime Minister to look credible, but she
wasn’t sure whether high heels, short skirts and plunging
necklines were the way to go about
it.
