Supercomputer Weather: Halong Turning To South

The latest Joint Typhoon Warning Center forecast for Typhoon Halong, the edges of which have now arrived in Japan, has the typhoon veering to the south, with the forecast track presently shown directly over Tokyo.

Latest satellite Imagery from NASA’s MODIS of Typhoon Halong follows. The Typhoon is on the right of the picture with China on the left and Korea at the top. Japan’s southernmost tip is visible through the clouds on the right if you look closely (It is easier to see Japan in the close picture of the eye.)
