    Victim Katrina Jefferies Was At Home With Her Baby On Sunday

    - Katrina Ann Jefferies, the woman found dead in Waikowhai Reserve on Tuesday morning, was last seen by her mother at the home they shared in Whitmore Rd, Mt Roskill, at about 7.30pm on Sunday, July 10. Katrina's mother is the caregiver to Katrina's 20 month-old son, who also lives in the same home.     Scoop Report: Capill Gets Nine Years In Prison For Raping Children

    - Former Christian Heritage Party leader the Rev. Graham Capill has been sentenced to nine years in prison for sex offences, including rape, of girls under the age of 12. Capill was sentenced today in the Christchurch District Court. In April, Capill admitted a charge of indecently assaulting a girl under 12 years-of-age. Other charges followed after two other girls came forward lodging complaints with the police. In June, Capill admitted to rape, unlawful sexual connection, and three charges of indecent assault.     - Marietta Gross reports that the devastating Boxing Day Tsunami that resulted in up to 300,000 deaths is believed to have been caused by a 1000 kilometre-long break of the earth’s crust.
