Govt Announces David Lange's Memorial In Auckland Saturday

Prime Minister Helen Clark has announced that there will be a public memorial service for David Lange this Saturday in Auckland. Helen Clark said that David Lange had requested a private, family funeral, but that the memorial service offered the opportunity for a public celebration of his life. "David was an outstanding New Zealander, and many people have voiced a desire for a public service to mark their respect for a man who made such an impact on our country." See... - The allocation of additional staff for schools in 2006 is being directed at reducing secondary class sizes Education Minister Trevor Mallard announced today. “The 2005 Budget included an additional investment of $91.3 million over four years to provide an extra 421 teachers to secondary and area schools,” Trevor Mallard said.
