Never Mind The Bollocks: Here Are The Marginal Predictions
Selwyn Manning writes that while the major focus of this year's election campaign coverage has firmly examined Don Brash and Helen Clark's performances, there's a fight taking place out in the marginal seats and even a high-placed Cabinet minister looks likely to lose. Scoop can confirm National is gaining traction. Even in the south Auckland electorates, while Labour will hold Manurewa, Manukau East, Mangere, the traditionally large election night Labour majorities are promising to be slashed. See... Labour Releases Its Foreign Affairs and Trade
Policy
- Prime Minister Helen Clark and Foreign
Minister Phil Goff today launched Labour’s Foreign Affairs
policy, saying New Zealand’s nuclear free legislation was
too important to New Zealanders for parties’ positions to be
left unclear. Labour is promising to maintain New Zealand’s
nuclear free status, and is challenging National to state
its support for the nuclear free legislation. “We believe
the overwhelming majority of New Zealanders want to keep New
Zealand nuclear free, independent, and committed to playing
a role in creating a more peaceful, prosperous and stable
world,” Helen Clark said. See... Nuclear

A Maori Perspective On The Playing Of The Race-Card
- I've seen and experienced a lot of racism in my 62 years, but never such a full-on poll driven cynical assault. And I realised just yesterday that my own overwhelming response is fear as well. I realised that I'm frightened about the consequences of that policy, and of the choices I might have to make that I don't want to make, if they try to implement it. See... - In the War on Terror, we are all on the front lines. Now Southold has apparently been targeted by Al Qaeda. I'm not surprised. Southold, if you look at a map, is situated at the ass end of nowhere. We are known for our Strawberry Festival and fire truck parade. According to the Census, this tiny place is made up almost entirely of inbred farmers, real estate speculators and volunteer firemen. Immigration & The Election

- Don’t think that the Internet news, Scoop or Counter Punch is not being read or getting passed around. On March 24, 2005, an article entitled, "Utah Prosecutors Are Soft On Polygamy," authored by Yours Truly, was published in Scoop, and within two weeks made it to the hands of the Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff without any help from me or Tapestry Against Polygamy. Steps In To Stop The Devil Finding Work for Idle Hands -
National has today announced its long awaited work-for-the dole scheme under the guise of an 'environment policy', Social Development and Employment Minister Steve Maharey said today. "As usual, no costing was provided for this policy, despite it being previously estimated at around $100 million a year," Steve Maharey said. “National is at some stage in this

their policy,” Finance Minister Michael Cullen said today.
He was commenting on contradictory statements from John Key
over how much National’s cynical undertaking to cut 5 cents
off petrol excise for six months would cost. “The confusion
shows the promise as the back-off-the-envelope exercise it
is,” Dr Cullen said. See... Key
