MMP: Hide's 'Maori Party = National Front' Analogies Fail to Stop Turia Attending ACT Conference

[1] In an unexpected move Maori Party Co-leader Tariana Turia was the surprise guest at ACT's Party conference held in Wellington over the weekend. Ms Turia's appearance at ACT's conference would have startled anyone that attended a speech ACT Leader Rodney Hide gave in Wellington just prior to the election. In his speech Mr Hide likened the Maori Party to the far right National Front Party. See... Party With 'Repugnant Views' Now Big Hit with ACT [2] ALSO:

Scoop Column: Shane Jones And Ian Wishart Interviewed + More Hosking On Air

    - Many political pundits pick new Labour Party MP Shane Jones as being headed for a ministerial position. Indeed, following the rate at which Investigate magazine is destroying Labour cabinet minister's careers, Mr Jones' opportunity to sit at the cabinet table may be sooner rather than later. A Week of It traversed Mr Jones' dealings with the media recently, including battles with ACT leader Rodney Hide. See... A Week Of It: Shane Jones, Ian Wishart and Hosking [1]

    - Nigeria’s announcement that it will consent to the transfer of former Liberian President Charles Taylor to Liberia is a landmark step toward ensuring justice for West Africa, Human Rights Watch said today. Now Taylor must be physically transferred to the U.N.-backed war crimes court in Sierra Leone. Nigeria must ensure that Taylor is not permitted to flee from justice and the international community must ensure that security in Liberia is maintained during this process. See... Tony Blair Down Under

    - As the war on Iraq is entering its fourth year British Prime Minister Tony Blair will be visiting New Zealand. However, the lies that heralded the invasion have continued with the occupation. Bush, Blair and Howard continue to bleed the word “democracy” of any meaning. The freedoms that they claim to be fighting for are being taken away, and not only in Iraq. Katya Rivas's Passion: Serialised For Lent (Part 17)

    - Pilate was looking for ways to free Me. He was worried because of his wife’s warning and confused between the guilt of his conscience and the fear that the people would initiate a riot against him. In the pitiable state in which I found Myself, he exposed Me to the sight of the mob proposing that he give Me liberty and condemn Barabbas, a famous thief and murderer, in My place.
