Antiquities:
Suzan Mazur Examines The Provenance Of A Bronze
Boy
- New York collector Stuart Pivar says the odyssey of his "nearly life-size" Roman bronze boy includes a chapter on an attempted "assassination" of the statue. He identifies the place of treachery as the Hunt-Sotheby's auction, June 19,1990. And he fingers the lead assassin: Bob Hecht. Hecht is now on trial in Rome for another conspiracy, one to traffic in ancient art, including pieces from the Hunt-Sotheby's sale. See... The Odyssey Of Stuart Pivar's Roman Bronze Boy [1]

Motornet: BMW's Hatchback Reviewed
It’s a Friday night. Things are quiet at this end of town, and few people are about save a couple of commuters who perhaps stayed for one beer two many and now make haste to catch a train to the suburbs. The night is unusually still for Wellington, and yet the still air of the carpark is punctuated by a noise petrolheads everywhere would recognize – the revving of a BMW straight six singing sonorously. Like giddy schoolboys, we simply can’t get enough of its gloriously mechanical noise. See... MOTORNET: Free-Revving Six - BMW 130i [1]

Iraq: President Bush – Mission Not
Accomplished
- President Bush acknowledged for
the first time yesterday that the United States is not
winning the war in Iraq and said he plans to expand the
overall size of the "stressed" U.S. armed forces to meet the
challenges of a long-term global struggle against
terrorists. See…Washington

Biological
Weapons: Bush Admin. Developing Illegal Bioterror
Weapons
- In violation of the U.S. Code and international law, the Bush administration is spending more money (in inflation-adjusted dollars) to develop illegal, offensive germ warfare than the $2-billion spent in World War II on the Manhattan Project to make the atomic bomb. American Coup: Brad Friedman & Paul Lehto Comment On
Paper Ballot Coalitions
- Concerning Michael
Collins' latest article in regard to the coalition formed to
demand a paper BALLOT for every vote cast in America, he has
made a number of points (and perhaps one error, at least in
terminology) that I'd like to clear up. See... Scoop
