1215 – Minster of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters
You may have heard resident British guy Richard Benniston talking to Barry Cotes from Oxfam yesterday about the government's announcement to increase foreign aid. Barry was stoked, but not too stoked, saying it's still pretty pitiful. Well, this morning I put this to Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters who says there's still a long way to go. He also told me how gutted he was to see Zimbabwe appointed to head the UN Commission on Sustainable development.
1235 –
Amnesty International NZ Executive Director Ced
Simpson
Amnesty International last month quietly changed their policy on abortion from one of neutrality, to what Pro-Life groups are now calling abortion advocacy. And what's more, they say Amnesty has been trying to cover up the policy change Their NZ exec dir. Ced Simpson told me this morning this is not the case at all. Hear him set the record straight at 1235.
1250 – Geoffrey Carracher,
Network of Concerned Farmers Victoria
At ten to one, I'll be talking to Geoffrey Carracher, Network of Concerned Farmers Victoria. There's been a lot of muttering over there about lifting the ban on GE crops in his state, with other states not far behind. It's all because of the drought you see – their worst on record, and one that shows no sign of abating.
1305 – AUSA pres Lisieli Oliver
1325
– Selwyn Manning from scoop.co.nz
1345 – Tim
Bollinger, Tintin expert
Tim's written a number of article's for NZ magazine's about Tintin and it's author Herge, and he'll join me at 1345 to tell me about the man, and how he'd feel about the news that Jackson and Spielberg are going to film it.
