Fashion: Joanna Hadfield Presents Moneybags Theme
Fashion Week: Park's Joanna Hadfield Presents Moneybags Theme
Joanna Hadfield from Park presented an entirely wearable and frankly commercial show this afternoon, no mean feat for a Fashion Week first timer.
The “Moneybags” and diamond theme was strongly evident in both the signature print that re-occurred across T-shirts, satin dresses and short, flippy skirts, and again as a motif on pockets that gathered across the top – just like a money bag.
Dresses leaned heavily towards the flapper era – not so much with their waistlines, which sat firmly at the waist or empire line, but with the Grecian-like folds of fabric falling from the scooped necklines.
Of particular note was a palette of dusky blue, rose and mint punctuated with sparkly sequins at the waist or across the pocket…this stuff was pretty!
Although the gold trench was an obvious crowd pleaser, my favourite was the bold red trench fastened with diamond buttons. There was so much here I loved – I cannot wait for winter.
