Coming up on the show today:
12:15: I’m joined on the line by Labour’s Health spokesperson Ruth Dyson, an outspoken critic of the Government’s plan to cutback health services. She claims this will lead to a drop in frontline services as well as job losses. Can these cuts be helped though? I’ll try to find out what Ms. Dyson would do if she was in Ryall’s shoes and how she would try to amend District Health Board deficits.
12:30: We’re talking leadership and early childhood education. The Teachers Council has released a report which claims female dominance could be partly to blame for a leadership vacuum in early-childhood education, a contention that seems rather sexist on a first look and one that many in the sector aren’t pleased with. Joining me on the phone to discuss the report is the Director of the Teachers Council Peter Lindt.
13:00: Pennie Papercuts will be in for her weekly magazine review. Today we’re taking an in depth look at the cornerstone of the pornographic world “Playboy”. So if you read this so-called “dirty” magazine, or are thinking about subscribing, or have never dreamed of looking at such filth (you might be surprised by the other content) then listen in.
13:30: Peter Griffin will join me on the phone for Dear Science, your weekly look at science and technology on the Thursday Wire. Peter will be filling you in on the news from the science world and all the snippets that come through the service he manages, the Science Media Centre.
13:45: I’ll read out your texts and emails and
other such correspondence.
