Coming up on the show:
At 12:10, I’ll be talking to Act MP, and Minister of Local Government Rodney Hide, about controversy that has erupted this morning and claims he will resign from his post if Maori seats are included in the proposed model of the Auckland Super City government. He does say that even though he will leave, National will continue to have Act’s support. Is this a case of the tail wagging the dog with Mr Hide (having less than 5% of the vote) trying to force the government’s hand?
Then at 12:30 I’ll have Brendan Malone from Family Life International on the phone to voice his opposition to homosexual couples having the right to adopt children. This follows a proposition from Acting Principal Family Court Judge Paul von Dadelszen who wants the 1955 Adoption Act changed to allow de-facto and same-sex adoptions.
At 1:30 Peter Griffin will be on the phone for Dear Science, you weekly look at Science and Technology. Today Peter will outline the history of his organization, the Science Media Centre, and some of the major issues and concerns that they focus on.
Then at 1:40 it’s time for Papercuts. Yes that’s right, Pennie Blair will be in (as she is every week) to review a magazine. This week it’s “New Zealand Weddings”, so if you’re getting married or just enjoy fantasizing about the big day, then see if this one’s worth your cash.
Interviews and a playlist will be posted on the bfm website following the show.
