Tom Frewen: The Week In Parliament – ending 13.11.09

  • Tom Frewen: The second week of adjournment saw only two Select Committees open to the public. The Finance and Expenditure Committee heard from Reserve Bank Governor Alan Bollard, who gave evidence to the Committee's inquiry into the Reserve Bank's Financial Stability Report. Also, the Education and Science Select Committee looked at the Carter Observatory Act Repeal Bill and heard from the observatory's director Sarah Rusholme. Next week will see the Government Administration Committee's financial review of Parliamentary Services and the State Service Commission, and the Maori Affairs Committee will hold an inquiry into Maori Television.
