'CIA knew about 9/11 from about April and May 2001'

U.S. intelligence analyst and 9/11 whistleblower, Susan Lindauer, says the CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency knew about the September 11 attacks from April and May of 2001.

"The CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency knew about 9/11 from about April and May of 2001. I discovered when my CIA handler instructed me to threaten my contacts at the Iraqi embassy in New York with war in the event that 9/11 happened and the Iraqi failed to provide actionable intelligence to us that would help us thwart it," Lindauer told Press TV's U.S. Desk.

Iraq insisted that it had nothing to hand over to the U.S., she said. After years of devastating sanctions "Iraq was looking for peace and if they had had any intelligence on the 9/11 conspiracy they were fully aware that they needed to hand it over and they would have wanted to do that."

Lindauer, the author of "Extreme Prejudice: The Terrifying Story of the Patriot Act and the Cover Ups of 9/11 and Iraq" said that she was warned in August of 2001 to stay out of New York because the "attacks were considered imminent."

As a U.S. Intelligence Asset, Susan Lindauer covered anti-terrorism at the Iraqi Embassy in New York from 1996 up to the invasion. Shortly after requesting to testify before Congress about successful elements of Pre-War Intelligence, Lindauer became one of the first non-Arab Americans arrested on the Patriot Act as an "Iraqi Agent."
