Solari Update: Equity Overview with Chuck Gibson
Solari Update: Equity Overview with Chuck Gibson, "Why Dividends Matter"
"I had an old-fashioned idea that dividends were a good thing."
~~ James MacArthur
By Catherine Austin Fitts
This week on The Solari Report, I will be speaking with Chuck Gibson, managing member of Financial Perspectives and my partner at Sea Lane Advisory, LLC, for our 3rd Quarter Equity Report.
With the long term bull market in bonds coming to a close as we discussed in our April Equity Overview, we will turn to the importance of dividends and their historical importance as a source of investment income. We will be joined by Chuck's colleague Melanie Pelayo who will address tax issues for US taxpayers. Chuck has prepared a series of excellent charts which will be posted on the blog and in the transcript.
I will start with Money & Markets. Do post your questions for Ask Catherine on the blog!
In Let's Go to the Movies, I will review Waking Ned Devine. This delightful British comedy tells the story of a tiny Irish village after one of its 52 citizens wins the Irish National Lottery. Money and community - can they work together? Yes, you bet!
Please note that this week we will be using our new format where the recorded interview will be available to subscribers Thursday morning while Money & Markets and Ask Catherine will be live Thursday night. Chuck Gibson will be available live Thursday night for questions!
Talk to you Thursday!

The IMF's Dreary Report Card
The IMF
report confirms what's been increasingly obvious: Many

our lights, their growth rates remain high because they have
huge labor forces and haven't exploited all existing
technologies.
Reinventing the Train: Ideas Coming Down the
Track
Compared with other modes of transport, train
technology might seem to be progressing as slowly as a
suburban commuter service rattling its way from one station
to another. Yet there is no shortage of new ideas, and they
are steadily making their way out onto the rails.

Report with this video excerpt from last week's
report:
"Our theme tonight is 'There's Opportunity in Down.' There was a little bit of a turn today but generally Precious Metals have been down, Commodities have been down, Emerging Markets down, the European economy has been turning down, the NOAA is saying the sunspot cycle is down. I know today there's been a bump but a bump is not a turn. However all change brings Opportunities." Watch the video...
