Dear Scoop Save Campbell Live Petition Supporters,

Thank-you for supporting the petition to call for advertiser support for the Campbell Live Show. We are nearly at 9000 signatures and will soon close off the petition.

We will be forwarding your names to advertisers next week, but first - today - there will be a presentation of our petition along with that of ActionStation (which is nearly at 75,000 signatures) to TV3 at their headquarters in Auckland. Details here.

There will also be rallies in support of Campbell Live held in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

You are all invited to attend.

• The Auckland rally starts on the corner of Karangahape Rd & Symonds St at 11.30. It will march to TV3/Mediaworks in Flower St.

• The Wellington rally is at 4.30pm at Te Aro Park

• The Christchurch rally is from 12 noon in Hagley Park (455 at the south end, next to the tennis club)

• The Dunedin rally is at 4.30pm in the Lower Octagon.

The public #SaveCampbellLive and #WatchCampbellLive social media campaigns have had a massive impact on Campbell Live's ratings and the shows have rated in the top three for much of the past fortnight.

Beyond TV3 the plight of the media facing falling advertising revenues has been highlighted by the events at Campbell Live and there have been calls and support for a review of the funding for public broadcasting.

You have made a difference, and we at Scoop.co.nz intend to keep up the fight for the provision of strong independent news media in New Zealand.

Alastair Thompson on behalf of the #SaveCampbellLive campaign
