Today at 12.30pm an ANZAC parade was held – on the eve of ANZAC Day - to mark the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli Landings in 1915. The parade travelled from the Cenotaph to the newly opened Pukeahu Memorial Park adjacent to the Carillon and Dominion Museum in Buckle Street where ANZAC Day will be marked tomorrow in what is expected to be one of the biggest gatherings of people in Wellington for some time.
The video below shows the crowd watching the parade on Stewart Dawson’s Corner in central Wellington outside Scoop’s HQ. The images that follow were taken at the beginning of the parade – by Francis Cook – and as it entered Willis Street by Megan Gattey.
