Corrections Minister Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga and Chief Executive Ray Smith today announced the Department of Correction would take over the management of Mount Eden Corrections Facility.

Both emphasised the safety and good management of the prison was a priority. They encouraged anyone with knowledge related to events and management of the prison to come forward for their investigations.
