TV1 Poll Shows A Return To Status Quo
The latest TV1/Colmar Brunton Poll shows a return to the gap between Labour and National that has existed for most of the year.
The last TV1 poll taken on June 14-17 showed National closing the gap and drew a very different picture from a TV 3 poll taken over a similar period.
However it now appears that the last TV1 poll may have been a bit of a 'rogue' result.
In the latest poll National fell three points to 38, Labour was up two to 44, the Alliance steady on six percent, ACT steady on five and New Zealand First unchanged on two percent.
In the previous two polls before the 'rogue', National polled 39 and 38, Labour 44.
In the latest poll, Jenny Shipley's own popularity fell four points to 25 and Helen Clark was up one to 22,
Once again those who thought the economy was on the up were in the majority as were those who disapproved of the Government's performance.
