MISSING TRAMPERS: Southland Police are becoming seriously concerned for the safety of three young men who have disappeared while tramping in the mountains.
OTAGO CERVICAL INQUIRY: There are new revelations of another health crisis, this time in the South Island’s Otago Health. The files of 14,000 women are being reviewed and a breast-screening programme in Otago and Southland has been suspended after revelations from the Gisborne Dr. Bottril cancer inquiry.
GISBORNE INQUIRY: One of the women who first gave evidence to the Gisborne Cervical Cancer Inquiry at it’s start three months ago has since died. Her mourners made an emotional tribute to her today.
HIT AND RUN ADMITS: The man who drove the vehicle that knocked two boys off a bridge in Wanganui, killing them, has admitted his act.
TODD ALLEGATIONS: A British tabloid is keeping the
pressure on Kiwi equestrian Mark Todd. It has published a
photo claiming it shows him using cocaine. However the
Olympic authorities say the new information changes nothing
and Todd will still be able to go to the Sydney 2000
Olympics.
