Business Forum – Missing Man – Dumped Baby – Soldier’s Book – Blind Appeal

- BUSINESS FORUM: The Government tried to revive its relationship with business today at an Auckland business forum. The intent was to kick around ideas on how to revive the flagging economy. Critics claimed they’d been excluded and the Government had a set agenda. 85 business leaders met with senior cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister. The media were kept well away from the meetings. Many business leaders critical of Government policy were not invited to the conference.

- MISSING MAN: A Hamilton man, 21-year-old Cameron Murray, was drinking with mates at a Hamilton bar when he went to the toilet and never came back. He has not been seen since. Alarm bells rang when the rugby mad student wasn’t around for the NPC final.

- DUMPED BABY: Auckland police have issued a warrant for the arrest of the father of a six-week-old baby who was found on the street.

- SOLDIER’S BOOK: The full might of the British Government came to an Auckland Court, to stop a soldier publishing a book. The soldier, whose identity is suppressed, worked in the British SAS during the Gulf War and now lives in New Zealand and wants to publish his book, which exposes a British military bungle.
