Gruesome Find – Kiwi bank – Gulf Air Strikes – Kiwi Actor Awarded
- GRUESOME FIND: A murder inquiry is under way as a woman’s body has been found behind a factory in Auckland. Police will not say whether she is Marie Jamieson, who has been missing for nine days. Ms Jamieson was last seen at a liquor store. Her bank account has not bee touched since she went missing. A post mortem will take place on the body found today, to establish cause of death, and then identify her. That may take a couple of days, due to the degree of decomposition. The search for Ms Jamieson is still going on, and will continue to until the body is identified as Ms Jamieson.
- KIWI BANK: The Chairman Of NZ Post wants to meet with Opposition Leader Jenny Shipley to help him track down the source of the leak who gave her the business plan for the People’s Bank, some of which she has made public. Prime Minister Helen Clark said Mrs Shipley has taken politicking far beyond what is appropriate in releasing the leaked information.
- GULF AIR STRIKES: A late night statement Disarmament Minister Matt Robson put out over the bombing raids by US and British aircraft is causing a ruction in the Government. National are saying the spat makes the Government look foolish on the international stage. Matt Robson wasn’t talking today. Phil Goff has expressed his own concerns over the strikes. Mr Robson’s crime seems to have been speaking without permission, rather than what he said. Meanwhile, Iraq fired missiles at planes patrolling the no fly zone today.
- KIWI ACTOR AWARDED:
Kerry Fox has taken the Silver Bear award for her
performance in Intimacy, a film that features her completely
naked, with 35 minutes of screen time devoted to
sex.
