Budget 2001 – Jane Clifton – Missing Fisherman

- BUDGET 2001: Finance Minister Michael Cullen administered a mid-term reality check yesterday, doling out a miserly $692 million in crumbs to cash-strapped government agencies.

-JANE CLIFTON: The budget is supposed to be a time when senior government MPs preen and parade like bantams, crowing phrases like “gross fixed capital formation” and “trajectories for gdp deceleration” as if they actually know what they mean.

- MISSING FISHERMAN: Missing Fisherman John Bradnock has had more than 14 years experience at sea and was used to dealing with more treacherous conditions than those he would have faced in the past week, a friend said.
