1. WATSON TRIAL - The judge in the Scott Watson media trial has criticised the media's coverage of the high profile trial. The judge said both the defence and prosecution were worried that some reports were putting a spin on evidence.
2. LOWER HUTT SHOOTING - The Lower Hutt CIB says an officer involved in a shooting incident in Petone last night was lucky to escape unharmed.
3. NZQA - There are calls for new laws on the governance of some crown agencies such as the NZQA.
4. JUDGES - A Parliamentary select committee has been warned not to rush through new legislation on appointing and firing judges.
5. IRD CLAIMS - The Inland Revenue Department says an investigation into the latest claims of harassment should be completed today.
6. ELECTRICITY - Max Bradford said he regrets not introducing price regulation a year ago. The Government now faces a difficult time getting the legislation through Parliament as ACT does not support the regulations.
7. SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP - A school on Auckland's North Shore is seeking sponsorship to cash in on its close proximity with the America's cup course.
8. YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH - A South Auckland specialist in youth health says mental health services in the area are a disaster particularly in the area of drug and alcohol abuse.
9. KOSOVO KLA- Russia has complained to the UN about the activities of the KLA in Kosovo.
10. KOSOVO SERBS - The first phase of the withdrawal of the Serb forces from Kosovo has gone much to plan.
11. RUSSIA - The head of the IMF is in Russia, but has not said when they will free up more loans for Russia.
12. AUCKLAND WATER - The Auckland City Council is meeting behind closed doors to discuss prices rises by Metrowater.
13. COOK ISLAND ELECTIONS - In the Cook Islands voting is underway in the general elections.
