1. PM's CREDIBILITY - The Prime Minister's word is once again under fire. Mrs Shipley stayed away from the Parliamentary cauldron, but everywhere the political heat followed her about what she did or didn't say after that Crossfire interview. Jenny Shipley is dogged by questions of credibility, Mrs Shipley refuses to comment. A written statement released last night, PM angry words used in flippant con Spent hours last night cloistered away with advisors. Labour has lodged a complaint about a breach of privilege by the PM. TVNZ says it stands by story , decision not taken lightly to use the comments at a function, not usually done, but questions of editorial integrity were raised in Parliament. 2. MURDER - A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of an ACC officer in her Henderson office yesterday. Friends gathered to support the dead women's husband.
3. ESCAPE - Police are tonight hunting a convicted sex offender who escaped from prison last night. He was serving an indefinite sentence, but was in medium security jail. He bolted through a hole in the fence and a dummy was in his bed to fool a prisoner count.
4. MISSING YACHT -Searchers have confirmed that wreckage found on the Antipodes Island is that of the missing yacht of two men.
5. ECONOMY - The economic recovery is gaining speed, that might lead to tax cuts, but other say not enough room to move that way. The economy grew in the last quarter, domestic spending is up and tourists are back. But the recovery is week. Treasurer says it give the Government a bit more room on tax and spending decisions.
