Serious Blow To The National Led
Government: - A TV3 political poll has placed a Labour
led Government well ahead in the run up to this month’s
general election.
Labour has 41 percent support - while
National has 28 percent. National’s support has slumped
since its star billed APEC period. And the 13 point gap has
rattled the Beehive.
TV3 began polling last Monday, the
day the AllBlacks lost to France and polling continued until
Thursday the day the AllBlacks lost to South Africa.
However, TV3’s political commentators say the poll is not
all due to the AB’s woes.
Labour has 41 percent support
[up 4], National 28 percent [down 5], ACT 10 percent [up 1
percent], Alliance 7 percent [no change], NZ First 6 percent
[no change], Greens 2.9 percent [up 0.4].
Support
transferred to seats in the House:
Labour 5
MPs
Alliance 9MPs
Greens [if it wins Coromandel] 4
MPs
NZ First 8 MPs
National 35 MPs
ACT 13
MPs
United 1 MP.
That tally up with 121 MPs in the
Parliament - this is because Peter Dunne is expected to win
his seat but bring no extra MPs into Parliament as United’s
party list support is almost zero.
A Labour led
Government would have 64 seats in the House.
National/ACT/United would have 49 seats. New Zealand First
would be sidelined with 8 seats and have no affect on the
Government.
