Keynote speakers: Dr Ann Clark, Guelph University Ontario
and Dr Morgan Williams, Parliamentary Commissioner for the
Environment, plus speakers from every sector of New Zealand

group. ~ WED 10 May - ‘The Children Are Dying’, video on
the effect of the sanctions against Iraq, 5pm at the Aro St

‘Comrade Savage’ - a mesmerising theatrical epic about the
Labour Party's first Prime Minister, Michael Joseph Savage -
dissent, passion and betrayal in the Left during the first
part of the twentieth century. Performed by an amazing
ensemble + orchestra and directed by the author, Red Mole's
Alan Brunton, at Studio 77, Department of Theatre and Film,
Victoria University, Kelburn Parade, 7-30pm each night.

High Consul to Australia and New Zealand). FRIDAY - public
meeting covering topics such as the sanctions, Cuba's leap
into organics, and for those who are not totally sick of the
subject she may talk a bit about Elian, 1pm in Meeting Room
One, Victoria University Student Union Building, organised
by STAUNCH (the Alliance campus and young people's wing).
SATURDAY - Fernandez will be speaking at Fiesta de Cuba,
starts 6-30pm at Crossways Community Centre, Elizabeth St,
Mt Victoria. This function will be hosted by the NZ-Cuba
Friendship Society and the Latin America Committee, features
music from Duo Los Andes and a Cuban style dinner. $10

FRI, 2 June - Women's Festival at Victoria University,
including performances by women artists, poets, dramatists,
political forums and comedians. The audience is open to men
and women, but the festival aims to promote women's

June - Wellington Peace Lunch Forum - an informal lunch time
session to exchange peace news, bring your lunch, your
leaflets, your news and views, tea and coffee provided, 1pm
to 2pm on the first Thursday of each month at the PMA
