Peter Dunne's Actions Speak Louder than His Words

Alliance MP Liz Gordon is questioning how United Future leader Peter Dunne can claim to promote 'common sense' and pro family policies when his actions in Parliament over the past 2 and a half years have demonstrated that United Future is just a right-wing clone of National.

"Peter Dunne voted against virtually every piece of progressive legislation put forward by the Labour/Alliance Government. He claims to oppose 'extremism' yet he refused to support even moderate corrections to the far right agenda of the 80s and 90s.

"When he voted to retain the Employment Contracts Act he demonstated his true political colours.

"Income related rents have been a great success in lifting the incomes of New Zealand's poorest families. How can Peter Dunne claim to be pro-family and not support income related rents?"

"Peter Dunne's support for Paid Parental Leave was the only light in a dark Tory tunnel."

"I find it hard to believe that he will support Labour after the election given that United Future voted against every Labour/Alliance Budget and refused to express confidence in the Government at any stage," said Dr Gordon.
