The committee met on Tuesday, 15 April to further consider the Industry New Zealand and Trade New Zealand Integration Bill, and to complete the financial review of Industry New Zealand.
The committee will next meet on Thursday, 1 May to further consider the Consumer Credit Bill and the Status of Redundancy Payments Bill.

On 11 April the committee presented reports on its 2001/02 financial reviews of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and the Hillary Commission for Sport, Fitness, and Leisure (now operating as Sport and Recreation New Zealand). The Te Papa report comments on the museum’s exhibition policy and bicultural policy, its financial position, and problems with its facility for technical services and storage. The Hillary Commission report comments on the organisation’s consultation processes with sports organisations, local authorities and communities.
The committee will not meet next week.

The committee’s next meeting will be on 30 April when it will continue to consider the Retirement Villages Bill, the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Bill and the Clean Slate Bill.
Primary Production (Bob

The committee met on Wednesday, 16 April to consider and hear evidence on the Wool Industry Restructuring Bill. Submissions heard were from the Wool Board, SheepCo, Wool Equities Limited, and the Meat Industry Association. The committee also heard evidence and considered issues on the inquiry into the administration and management of New Zealand’s scampi fishery.
The committee next meets on 30 April to hear further evidence on the Wool Industry Restructuring Bill and on 1 May to hear further evidence on the inquiry into the administration and management of the scampi fishery.

On Monday, 14 April the committee met in Christchurch and heard submissions on the Land Transport Management Bill and the Road Traffic Reduction Bill. The committee will not meet next week.
