Action to deliver low cost health care
Progressives welcome action to deliver low cost health care
Progressive leader, Jim Anderton, has welcomed the coalition government's announcement that it will accelerate its $47 million investment to make primary health care more affordable for older New Zealanders.
"In its first term, the coalition government commenced a review of its health delivery policies and programmes.
"During the review, I negotiated with my Labour colleagues, in particular the Minister of Health Annette King, that priority should be given to lowering the costs of access to primary health care for older New Zealanders. The Health Minister agreed that this would occur if the center-left coalition government was re-elected," Jim Anderton said.
"I am greatly heartened
that that this commitment has now been implemented. Older
New Zealanders will from next July reap another of the
benefits of successful coalition government," Jim Anderton
said.
