A Classic From - The Ministry Of Silly Rules

Another Classic From The
The Ministry Of Silly Rules
Te Tari Porangi Aotearoa

Our report yesterday from a Dunedin school trustee about the silliness of OSH rules for schools certainly struck a chord!

One example from a reader…..

“I think you would find this happens in many schools!!

We have to fill out a Health and Safety form when taking students to the movies or the public library!!!

We also need to always predict possible dangers there are and possible mishaps that might occur every time we take them out of school.

Imagine the forms stating that an asthma attack could occur and - yes- we do have an atomiser with us in the most necessary first aid kit we always need to take.

Someone could fall down the stairs in the movies and break a leg; our precaution is to take a cell phone!!

Oh dear it is an administrative nightmare and total waste of time that could be spent putting energy into taking our kids out to experience the world!”

At United Future we reckon it is high time to bring back some common sense.
