Dunne calls for climate change summit
United Future leader Peter Dunne today called on the Government to convene a multi-party summit to deal with New Zealand's response to climate change.
"With Climate Change Minister David Parker telling the UN Nairobi conference that climate change is the defining issue of the 21st century, and the National Party indicating it wants to work closely with Labour in the issue, it's plain that climate change is beyond temporary party politics and the normal three-year electoral cycle.
"With the Government now working hard to formulate its climate change response, now's the time to bring all parties together so that New Zealand's future strategies are endorsed by all and won't chop and change with every election," said Mr Dunne.
