Dunne Welcomes Transmission Gully Draft Approval

Ōhariu MP and UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne today welcomed the draft approval of Transmission Gully by the independent board of inquiry established last year.

“Every step is going in the right direction, and Transmission Gully is coming ever closer,” Mr Dunne said.

“It simply needs to happen and it is now very realistic that the road could be underway in 2015.”

Mr Dunne, who has been a leading proponent of the road, said he would continue to campaign vigorously for it.

“There is no doubt that Wellington needs this road as part of its transport infrastructure future and we need to make it happen.

“Every obstacle from the nay-sayers is being overcome and this important draft approval is the latest step.

“This is excellent news for Wellington,” he said.
